A post-doctoral position is available immediately in the Structural Biology
Programme at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Heidelberg
for an experienced crystallographer to work on the crystal structure
determination of a Cre recombinase-DNA complex. Cre is a site-specific
recombinase from bacteriophage P1 which recognises a 34bp site and is being
used for inducible gene targeting. The project is being done in collaboration
with Francis Stewart from EMBL. Cocrystals with oligonucleotides containing
the recombination site have been obtained.
