POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN PROTEIN CRYSTALLOGRAPHY
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND IN BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Applications are invited for a joint appointment as a Research Officer
(Level A) in the Centre for Drug Design and Development and the Department
of Physiology and Pharmacology, working on the structure and function of
human sulfotransferases. These enzymes catalyse the metabolism of
neurotransmitters and foreign aromatic substances and have also been
implicated in cancer due to the formation of mutagenic and carcinogenic
products.
Applicants must possess a PhD in a relevant area and must have experience
in protein crystallography. Experience in recombinant protein
expression/purification will be an advantage. X-ray facilities include
R-AXIS IIC/RU 200/Oxford Cryostream. Appointment will be for two-three
years, starting early in 1999. The level of appointment will depend on
experience. Salary will be in the range $A33, 846- $45, 910 per annum
(Research Officer - Level A)
