MSI now owns full rights to CNS. Yet another piece of software
snagged from the scientific community.
My understanding is that users of X-PLOR or CNS can keep
using it. However, Yale and MSI are not going to distribute
it, and others cannot do so either.

- YOU SHALL NOT DISCLOSE IN ANY FORM EITHER THE DELIVERED SOFTWARE OR
DOCUMENTATION OR ANY MODIFICATIONS OR DERIVATIVE WORKS BASED ON THE
SOFTWARE OR DOCUMENTATION TO THIRD PARTIES WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN
AUTHORIZATION.
- IF YOU RECEIVE A REQUEST TO FURNISH ALL OR ANY PORTION OF THE
SOFTWARE TO ANY THIRD PARTY, YOU WILL NOT FULFILL SUCH A REQUEST AND
WILL REFER IT IN WRITING TO YALE UNIVERSITY.
As you can see, users can't distribute CNS, or even patches/updates
to the code. So, CNS is really a dying program. Everyone should
protect thier copies, unless you want to start supporting MSI.
Of course, maybe some right-minded person from outside the US
could put up an unlogged anonymous FTP site where people could
anonymously drop of and pick up CNS goodies...
