This is the BETA distribution of the NCSA ContigAsm program. It reads
the output of the NCSA GelReader (gel mobilities) and assembles contigs
from it. It considers error bars when searching for matches and allows 
the user to enter a value to be used as a certainty metric for the overlap
searches.

This is a new pre-beta distribution, version alpha 1. Release data
January 9, 1990.  The distribution file is in a binhexed, stuffed archive.
You will need the programs BinHex and StuffIt to decode the archive. It
contains the rough documentation, the application and a set of sample 
gelreader output files.
