============================= Aug'1996: Dear sirs: Could you please replace the version of CPrimer in the Mac folder with the new version 1.09? The previous version did not correctly limit the range of products in the optimizer. It also crashed when trying to reuse the optimizer window. This program can be used to optimize primer pairs for PCR( amplification. It uses the method of Rychlik and Rhoads. If there are any questions, please contact Greg Bristol Dept of Medicine, Hem-Onc UCLA gbristol@ucla.edu ==================================== 1995: Dear IUBio Archives, In September 94 we submitted Primers 1.2 for your archive. It doesn't run on the newer machines. This seems to be a problem with SuperCard. Therefore it has been rewritten in C. Could you please throw away Primers 1.2? Here is CPrimer for Macintosh. It is smaller, faster, and more powerful. CPrimer evaluates oligonucleotides as possible PCR primers. The target sequence can be read in as text, MacVector, or DNA Inspector files. It shows melting points, interfering structures, and can search for optimum amplification pairs. The file has been compressed with Compact Pro and binhexed. Any bugs or problems, please email Greg Bristol at the Lab of Molecular Medicine and Structural Biology (formerly LBES): gregb@lbes.medsch.ucla.edu =============================
