About DNA Runs DNA Runs was a Macintosh program for performing a significance test of the number of runs in DNA sequence polymorphism and divergence data. A complete description of the test is in: McDonald, J.H. 1996. Detecting non-neutral heterogeneity across a region of DNA sequence in the ratio of polymorphism to divergence. Molecular Biology and Evolution 13:253-260. The runs test is now included in the program DNA Slider, along with other tests that are more powerful than the runs test for most patterns of heterogeneity in the polymorphism to divergence ratio. DNA Slider is available from ftp://iubio.bio.indiana.edu/molbio/mac. ========================================================= John H.
