=============== From: (Rainer Fuchs) rainer_fuchs@glaxo.com Subject: MacPattern v3.5 Included is version 3.5 of MacPattern, a popular program for analyzing molecular biological sequence data for sequence family motifs. It works with the PROSITE and BLOCKS databases as well as with private motif collections. Changes in version 3.5: o Fat binary, i.e., it runs on PowerMacs and 68K Macs in native mode. o BLOCKS rel 8.0 introduced a new pseudo-count scoring method which is now supported by MacPattern. o New Go To option to go from a hit directly to the corresponding database entry. o Miscellaneous changes. ============= This is the latest version of MacPattern (v3.2) written by R. Fuchs (EMBL Data Library). MacPattern assists in finding putative functions for new protein sequences by supporting pattern searches using the PROSITE database, block searches using the BLOCKS database, and statistical analyses (maximal segment score analysis and Eguchi-Seto method). MacPattern runs on any Macintosh with at least 750 kb of free RAM and System version 6.0.5 or greater. ===============
