About Sequence Converter 1.0... This is a native Mac OS X (cocoa) program that very simply converts a sequence (which may contain non DNA bases) to a DNA sequence and its reverse compliment. This program removes any non-DNA base characters from the sequences, so you can easily paste a sequence from GenBank into this program; however, if you include the header information, any base characters (GATCgatc) will be included in the sequence--so don't do this. When the degenerate box is checked, the program accepts the degenerate bases N or n. It also gives GC content and DNA sequence length. I basically wrote this program for two reasons 1) I wanted something to do this conversion very quickly and in OS X, and 2) I wanted to play around with programming in OS-X.
